Television is rather bad than good.

I must say that I don't like watching TV. I prefer to watch movies on the Internet, because it means that I am not dependend on TV guide.
And the main reason it that I simply think that there are better ways to spend time than sitting in front of the screen for hours, which means that I am mostly against TV.

Why?

1, It is a thief of time. It's addictive. If one starts watching TV, it is very often hard to stop it, which leads to hours of wasted time that could be used better. And it steals time even though you want to watch one movie only. The movie lasts 1,5 hours. The movie with commercials lasts about 15 hours that could have been spent more usefully.

2, There is a lot of violence in it and it definitely influence children's behaviour. They could be more agressive, because it's something they have seen on TV since they were born.

3, Watching TV may lead to conflicts within the family. It's common to have more than one TV in one house nowadays, but when it wasn't, people were very likely to argue about the channel they wanted to watch.

One of the family members wanted to watch Discovery Channel and the second one wanted to watch a horror movie. It all started at the same time. And there was only one TV. And the fight began. They were screaming and throwing things on each other. And the former killed the latter. And one of the CSI Miamy was inspired by that case. And there we are in another family. The man wants to watch CSI Miami, but her wife doesn't. They start to argue. They scream. And that is a cycle of life.. :D Just kidding, but arguments occured and still occure often because of the choice of TV channel.

4, TV separates families. As I've mentioned above, having one TV only was more common in the past. Nobody is surprised when there are 3 or more TV's in one family nowadays.

And each of them in a different room. And every single member of the family uses their own TV. In their own room. Alone. No more family meetings and time spend together.

These are the reasons why I don't like watching TV.

gods must be crazy.

This 33 years old movie is a perfect example of an intercultural issue.

The movie is about a man living in bush all his life who has never seen a modern technology, or even technology, or anything that makes one´s life easier. He is a member of an African tribe and is called Xi. One day he finds a bottle of Coca Cola, which is something he can not associate with anything he has ever seen. This is why he believes it is a gift from Gods and needs to be given back and so he rans through the lands in order not to make Gods mad.

While he is on his journy, there are some kids kidnapped by a group of criminals who failed in making an attempt on people and are now on their getaway.

The children are scared, because they have never seen a car before. It is something their culture does not know. It does not even know guns and threatening. The children are now lost far away from their tribe.

The third important part of the movie is a young woman who wants to become a teacher here in Africa. She wants to share what he knows with people, who have never experienced something like books, boards or
even stable tables.

The story shows how much the modern ( yes, seriously, I have just written the word " modern " in a text sharing information about the movie from 1981 ) things can affect lifes of those who are used to live in almost asolute harmony with nature and have never been in touch with stuff like Coca Cola bottle, car or even guns.

what is happening in the picture, man?

This will be a little emotional description, so uncover your feelings and share the love.

I have been inspired by our morning lesson and chosen almost the same picture as I spoke about today. The picture shows a woman right after delivery. She has just given a birth, which is obvious, because she is holding a baby.

Giving a birth must be an amazing proces. Look at her, she has just gone through a long and paintfull labour. She has suffered from horrible pain for many hours. She screamed, cried and I am sure she was about to kill her husband for what he caused her. She was probably extremely rude. But she could have been. She had a right to do it all, because giving a birth is hard.

But although she is happy at the end. No, happy is not an appropriate word. She´s the happiest person in the world.
Everything is forgotten right after she sees this little miracle in her hand. She forgots the pain, the torture she went through, because she knows now that it was worth it. There is a very strong bond between her and her baby from the first time the little one catches her finger.
After all the pain she is holding her new sense of living, something she would be able to sacrifice her life to and couldn´t be happier and prouder.
We shouldn´t forget that there is probably also a father somewhere there, which makes her feel even better, because now they are complete family.

To sum up, we can see a huge amount of happines in one picture, which must force one to smile. I hope so.

" This chart is stupid and proves nothing, "

.. said a businessman fired because of being responsible for leading an uneffective meeting.

WARNING! I'm not funny and definitely not good at telling jokes, but today I'll try, so please, don't take it seriously.

The chart shows the main topics and issues that are usually discussed during meetings. It can be seen from this chart, that talking about the topics that are crucial for the company are everything but not the most interesting topic. But to be fair, the chart shows, that about 5 percent of the meeting consists of debates about decisions.

On the other hand, anything that is not connected with company's profit is obviously very interesting. For example gossips. Everybody loves them and they usually make a good conversation. When participants don't speak about the fact that the boss is an asshole, which lasts about 20% of the meeting time, or about the secretary's personal life ( makes about 18% of meeting ), they are likely to spend time by talking about the only relevant things - about the agenda ( which could give them information about duration of their imprisonment in the meeting room ) or about planning the next meeting, which is, as obvious from the graph, the most important and interesting topic, because talking about it covers more than a half of the whole meeting ( cicra 60 percent ).

In conclusion, depending on this chart, meetings are set mostly to decide on the following one's date. What a profitably spent time.
